Boas Festas Happy Holidays Christmas 2023 is here

Boas festas! Happy holidays! Merry Christmas and a wonderful new year!

Feliz Natal e um Ano Novo Cheio de Alegria – Holiday Greetings from the amazing Mrs. Moraes, Queen of Crazy Ideas and Keeper of Tropical Celebrations, my little internet darlings!!!

Mrs. Moraes here, fresh from a living room that sounds like a conga line erupted in a vat of laughter. Yes, yes, Christmas is upon us, and in our casa, that means one thing: enough family fun to fill the Amazon River and enough laughter to wake the toucans napping in the rainforest canopy.

Now, I know what you’re thinking. “Mrs. Moraes, I bet your family game nights are legendary, but can’t we skip straight to the gift-giving and unwrapping?” Patience, meus amores! Christmas in Brazil is like a Carnaval parade – full of music, dancing, and enough vibrant energy to make a Rio samba troupe jealous.

First, there’s the decorating. We don’t usually do the little snow globes and twinkling snowflakes here. No, no, our houses are like mini Rio carnivals – bursting with colorful lights, garlands that sway like samba skirts, and nativity scenes that could rival a Broadway musical.

Then comes the music! No carols and Mariah Carey here. We’re talking bossa nova beats that wiggle your hips, and enough samba to turn even the Grinch into a bateria king.

Of course, it’s not all about music and dancing. There’s the gift-giving, the family reunions that could rival a telenovela premiere. But through it all, there’s one thing that never changes: the love, the joy, and the unshakeable Brazilian spirit. We may be a little bit loud, a little bit lively, and a whole lot passionate, but when it comes to celebrations, we do it big, we do it bold, and we do it with enough coração to melt even the iciest of hearts.

So, from my casa to yours, Feliz Natal e um Ano Novo Cheio de Alegria! May your days be merry, your hearts be full, and your laughter echo like a bossa nova through the streets. And remember, darlings, if things get a little too crazy, just take a deep breath, grab a loved one, and remind yourself: it’s all part of the beautiful, chaotic joy of life!

Com amor e um abraço apertado,

Mrs. Moraes, Queen of Crazy Ideas and Keeper of Tropical Celebrations (and maybe a few leftover brigadeiros, if you know what I mean).

Boas Festas! Happy Holidays!
